True and Selfless Love (Moral Story)

A man from Saudi Arabia secretly married a Filipino woman because he was already married and had children with his first wife. When the man became ill, he gathered his children from his first wife to share his will. He told his eldest son, "Son, I have secretly married a Filipino woman as well. After I pass away, take care of her and ensure she receives her rightful share of the inheritance." He also provided them with her complete address. A few days later, the man passed away. His children approached the judge and informed him of the details. The judge halted the matter and ordered the Filipino woman to be brought before him.

The eldest son had been searching for his father's wife, and after many challenges, he finally found the street where she lived. As he met her, she instantly recognized him. With a mix of surprise and sadness, she said, "You're looking for me, and I too have heard about your father's passing."

The son then explained everything and convinced her to travel to Saudi Arabia with him. Upon arriving, they went straight to the judge. The woman's share amounted to 800,000 riyals (approximately 21.6 million Pakistani rupees). The judge ordered that, after performing Umrah, she should be sent back to the Philippines. The eldest son complied with the order.

After four years, the oldest son met his father's 2nd wife in the Philippines. When he arrived, he was shocked to see her still living in a small, worn-out house despite receiving a large inheritance. He asked her, "Mother, why are you living in this old house?" She smiled and took his hand, leading him to a nearby location where a beautiful Islamic center had been built house?" The woman took his hand and led him to a place where a large Islamic institution had been established. The institution had a department for Quran memorization as well as an orphanage. She said, "Son, lift your head and look at the institution’s board." Tears welled up in his eyes as he read the name of his late father written on the board. The virtuous woman explained, "I built this institution with the inheritance money and dedicated it in your father’s name so that he continues to receive rewards because of it."

This was true love. Otherwise, she could have built a luxurious mansion with that money. However, she believed that in comparison to love, a mansion holds no value — it is temporary. On the other hand, this Islamic institution would benefit her and her husband in the Hereafter.

When the son returned to Saudi Arabia, he informed his brothers about what had transpired. That night, the brothers stayed awake and raised funds among themselves. By morning, they had collected 5 million riyals to donate to the institution dedicated to their late father. This institution was established due to the selfless love of their second mother for their father. SubhanAllah.

"In today's time, heirs of the wealthy often await their parents’ passing to inherit their wealth. But those who truly love them think about sending provisions for them to benefit in the Hereafter."
