Hazrat Abdullah (RA) was the son of Sayyiduna Umar Farooq (RA). His morals were very high. He often ate only when someone else was eating with him. He would even invite ordinary people to sit with him at the table and did not consider it an insult.
Once, a Tabi'i named Abu Ja'far Qari (RA) went on a journey with Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) on the orders of his master Abdullah bin Ayyash. Abu Ja'far Qari (RA) says that during the journey, I saw Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) that whenever he stopped at a water spring, he would invite the people of the spring to eat with him and his eldest sons would also come and eat with him. Since food was scarce and there were many people, each person would only get two or three bites. Once, they stopped at a place called “Juhfa” as they used to do, and the people there also came to eat at their invitation. In the meantime, a small boy came, who was black in color and had no clothes on his body. Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) called him too. He said: I do not see any place to sit, where should I sit?
*Bu Ja’far Qari (RA) says: I saw that Abdullah bin Umar (RA) moved a little from his place and made the child sit on his chest.

Dear everyone, We should learn a lesson from this story of Hazrat Abdullah bin Umar (RA) that how he stood up for a child and made him sit with him and feed him; therefore, we should also develop this quality in ourselves and should not look down on any poor, helpless, old man with torn clothes; Rather, one should help such people, as this pleases Allah Almighty.
