He said: Call him and then see, when he is close to you, he will put his hand on his nose; so that the bad smell does not come, the king said: Okay, just call him, he first ran to the man and said to him: Today I have an invitation for you to eat, then he took him with him to his house and fed him food that had onion and garlic mixed in it, after that the man went to the king and according to his habit, sat next to the king and started giving advice, the king said: Come closer, so he put his hand on his mouth; so that the king would not feel the smell of onion and garlic from his mouth, seeing this, the king was convinced that the man was right, indeed this man thinks that my mouth smells bad. The king became very angry and decided to punish.
The king used to write a royal order for a reward and give a verbal order for a punishment; But to keep the matter a secret, he wrote a letter to his representative for punishment. In which it was written, "Whoever brings you this letter, kill him and fill his skin with straw and send it to me." Then he gave the letter to the person and said: Go and give it to so-and-so. On the way, he met the envious person who had played a trick in front of the king, so he asked: What kind of letter is this? The king has written this reward for me; therefore, give it to me. So he gave the letter to him. Then what happened! He happily took it and went to the king's representative. The representative said, "Now I will kill you; because it is written in it that I will kill you and fill your skin with straw and send it to the king." Then he started shouting, shouting and crying and said: This letter was not written by the king for me, if you want, find out, he said: After the king's letter came, there is no need to investigate, after all this representative killed him.
The next day when the person who advised came to the king, the king was very surprised, he asked: You here: Where is that letter? Then he told the king the whole story that I met a man, he asked me for that letter, give it to me, I will deliver it; so I gave the letter to him. Then the king asked him what he used to say about you that you say that the king's mouth smells bad? He said: No, who told you? The king said: When I asked you to come closer that day, why did you put your hand on your mouth? So he told me about the feast and the eating of garlic and onions. The king understood that this was a true man, he was the one who was jealous of him and reached his end; therefore he used to say rightly that “Sufficient for the evil is his evil”.
This is the end of envy! Therefore, you too should not envy anyone, envy means “to be jealous of someone’s luxury and high status”, this is a very big sin; therefore, always avoid it.
