The Blessing of Truth

There was a lawyer in a certain area, he used to fight people's cases in court and used to tell lies and truths to win the case and used to earn money illegally; but after a few days, the lawyer became associated with the righteous servants of Allah, so Allah changed the condition of his heart. He said: I will not lie after today, I will fight only true cases, my Allah will provide me with sustenance only if I speak the truth.

People said: By speaking the truth, the lawyer will not work, you will not be able to win the case; due to which your earnings will stop. He said: Whether my lawyer works or not; but the truth will definitely work, now I have decided from my heart.

Then the lawyer also told the people that if your cases are false, then do not come to me;  Otherwise, if I find out, I will oppose you and if your cases are true, then I will definitely help you and fight the case on your behalf. People stopped coming to him and his office started to remain empty, several months passed in this state; rather, a year passed in this way; but he did not receive a single case. Once it was discussed in front of the judges that such and such a lawyer does not take false cases, is enduring poverty; but still he says, “I will die; but I will not lie.”

All the judges were very impressed by this. With time, his respect increased in the hearts of the people.

The second year began, so the righteous servants of Allah Almighty thought that such and such a lawyer only fights true cases and our cases are true, let us go to him, people started coming, whoever came would come with a true case. The lawyer would take the case to the court and the decision would be in his favor.  After a few days, the judge thought that all the cases this lawyer brought were true; therefore, he should not be asked any more questions. So, when the lawyer took the case, the decision would be made in his favor within a few minutes.

Now even the big rich people started bringing true cases to this lawyer, due to which his earnings also started increasing.

When the lawyer used to lie, he used to earn twenty thousand rupees in a month and when he started telling the truth, he started earning forty thousand rupees in a month. Allah Almighty gave him double sustenance for speaking the truth. Then after a few days, some lawyers took the exam to become judges, and this lawyer succeeded in it and became a judge.

When the lawyer started telling the truth, Allah Almighty doubled his sustenance and then made him sit on the judge's chair. Dear children! Therefore, we too should always speak the truth, never lie.
